The Senate

As per Sec 25(2) of M.U.A. 1994, The Senate shall consist of the following members,.

Office Bearers
  1. The Chancellor
  2. The Vice-Chancellor,
  3. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor
  4. The Director of Higher Education or his nominee
  5. The Director of Technical Education
  6. The Director of Medical Education
  7. The Director, Board of College and University Development
  8. The Director of Students’ Welfare
  9. The Librarian of the University Library
  10. One Head of the Academic Services Units of the University, by rotation
  11. The Director of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension Services
  12. The Registrar – Member Secretary
  13. Deans of faculties
Elected Members
  1. Eighteen principals of the colleges of which two shall be women and one shall be a person belonging to SC/ ST or DT/NT/OBC, by rotation.
  2. Eight representatives of the Managements of affiliated colleges or recognized institutions of which two shall be women and one shall be a person belonging to SC/ ST or DT/NT/OBC, by rotation
  3. Twenty teachers having teaching experience not less than five years, other than heads of University departments or heads of recognized institutions,of which two shall be women and one shall be a person belonging to SC/ ST or DT/NT/OB
  4. The President or Secretary of University’s Students’ Council
  5. Ten members from registered Graduate Constituency (two Women and one belonging to SC/ST or DT/NT/OBC).
  6. Five postgraduate teachers elected from amongst themselves, having not less than five years teaching experience, of which two shall be women and one shall be a person belonging to SC/ ST or DT/NT/OBC
Nominated Members
  1. Two members of State Legislative Assembly and two of the State Legislative Council.
  2. Seven persons nominated by the Chancellor, including distinguished scholars, social workers, industry professionals etc.
  3. Two persons nominated by the Chancellor from amongst the heads of recognized institutions.
  4. Three persons nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst the Heads of University departments or recognized institutions not below the rank of Reader.
  5. Two persons nominated by the Vice-Chancellor of which one shall be employee of the University and other from the employees of affiliated colleges or recognized institutions.
  6. One representative of donors nominated by the Chancellor
  7. One representative of Education Committees of Zilla Parishads within the University area, nominated by the Vice-Chancellor for a term of one year, by rotation.
  8. One representative of Municipal Council nominated by the Vice-Chancellor
